Woodland's Jovan

Pedigree

Our stallion, Woodland's Jovan, is a grandson of the famous Norwegian Fjord stallion Pluto, who was the trotting race champion in Norway several years in a row. There are only three stallions out of this great Norwegian bloodline in North America. Anvil's Pluto belongs to Gene Crandall of Woodland's West. This fabulous horse sired both Jovan and the champion Gold Medallion winner, Woodland's Dustin (owned by Gayle Ware), who has had a great showing in both the Norwegian Fjord horse world and in open cutting and reining events. Jovan has the superb athletic ability exhibited by his line and has demonstrated that he can pass on this athletic prowess to his foals. His impulsion, remarkable extension, Woodland's Jovanand quick, fluid movement make him a joy to ride. As an added bonus, Jovan has 'look of eagles' and an energetic yet friendly, laid back disposition that is also passed on to his get. Jovan is 14.1 hands, dark gold with black stockings and striking leg stripes.

Jovan is a spirited but well mannered partner with us and his herd. He knows who he is and what it's all about, but doesn't use this as an excuse for ill behavior. Since we pasture breed, Jovan must respect his mares in order to breed with them. He must court them and win them each time. He also always takes 'time out' to dote on his foals. Outside of his breeding responsibilities, Jovan is an excellent riding horse and enjoys the mental and athletic challenges presented to him with Natural Horsemanship training. He strives for acheivement in everything he does.

The fact that Woodland's Jovan consistantly passes on his great disposition and super athletic ability is a fundamental consideration for anyone purchasing a Shota Fjord foal, as it provides a perfect foundation for a safe and successful partnership with your horse.
