A personal message from Lawrence ...
elentless Research was born in 1983 when I was supporting a telecommunications project for a Los Angeles-area think tank. One of my tasks was to search online sources such as CompuServe for information and products relevant to our mission. My new company's name sprang from the description I gave to my work in a conversation with a colleague. It stuck.
fter a previous ten-year stint with the U. S. General Accounting Office, I transferred my audit manager skills to the world of management consulting. Becoming increasingly drawn to the then-emerging phenomenon of personal computers, I found that I was being sought out by computer programmers and consultants who needed input for accounting- and business-oriented software they were developing. One thing led to another, and by the early eighties, I was doing everything from assembling XT clones (remember those?) to writing CP/M code for modem software to penning pieces for a national user group newsletter. During those halcyon Los Angeles days, I managed to start two software development companies and meet some very interesting characters.
