Occultation of Venus by the Moon, July 31, 2000
The movie shows Venus passing behind the dark limb of the 1 day old moon.

These images show Venus emerging from the very thin limb of the new moon.
The images are highly streched to show the lunar limb, (the diagonal line
running from top center to lower left).

Both sets of images were made using a Cookbook Camera in the 252 internal mode.
The 8" (f/8) telescope was stopped to 1-1/2".
Using a 2X barlow the effective focal lenght was 128" at f/85.

The exposures of the occultation were .03 sec, the emergence exposures at .07 sec.
Images were approximately 2 sec apart.
