My first ride. I'm 7 yrs old. That's Jack Tipton, a Maryland farmer who raced Indians on the weekends. He had two; one always up and running and one in pieces in his basement getting tweaked. Right after this photo, Jack said, "Hold on" and took off! I barely managed to grab the belt loops on his leather jacket and suddenly the world was a blur at 80 mph. Man! I loved it! It took me until I graduated high school to get a bike; a used Puch 250 (ha!). The night I got it home I took it out and immediately got busted for no license, no registration, no lights, no helmet, speeding, and evading. Fortunately they stopped me in front of my parents house and we were moving to Oregon the next day. Oh yeah, I got myself a leather jacket too (and I even wear a helmet).
