This is Bleu, our 1977 Riviera Campwagen

We found Bleu in an old gentleman's backyard where it had been parked for four years. Manufactured by ASI in Vancouver, WA and originally delivered to Valley Volkswagen in Spokane, WA. ASI built camper conversions in the sixties, seventies and eighties that were primarily sold by Riviera Motors of Portland, OR. Riviera conversions were fully licensed and warrantied by VWoA. He was sold to his first owner on March 26, 1977. We believe that he has had about four owners since new. He has spent its entire life east of the Cascades. Because of this, there is nearly no rust and is completely original and unrestored. He came with ALL papers including both the original Owner's Handbook and the Campwagen Warranty and instructions (and a plastic clip on the visor from his original insurance agent.)

We purchased him because he allows us to camp in the many remote and pristine camps that are around our home in Northeast Oregon. We also have a large motorhome that has not had any use since acquiring Bleu. He has everything that the large unit has including running water, cooktop, reefer and a FURNACE!!! He has everything, that is, except the potty. That's what a shovel is for. We love him!

For a few other interesting images and stuff, continue on to my images page. You might also enjoy a trip to my "unofficial WetWesties" page on Tripod. We also have a couple1983 Vanagon GL Wasserboxers and a '68 Sunroof Type I. But alas, no pictures of those yet. And while we're on the subject of pictures. We must give special thanks to Union High School in Union, OR. Without their digital camera, there would be NO pictures at all on this page... (and besides, digital to digital is the only way to go.)
