Ram's Head Cottage is named for the mountain sheep found in this "Switzerland of America".  The cottage is a stone's throw from the Wallowa Lake community.  It's perfect for honeymoons, anniversary celebrations, and those seeking a comfortable solitude. Writers, in particular, like it.

It is a light, airy home with both the living-dining-kitchen and the master bedroom on the upper "tree house" level.   The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, while a separate bedroom with a queen bed and a 2nd bath is on the entry level.  This design, which puts you at eye-level with tree branches, is especially relaxing. The cottage is ideal for up to 2 couples with privacy for each, and is richly furnished.   Pine paneling and fir flooring throughout provide an inviting and warm stay.

Ram's Head Cottage is the perfect place to retreat with each other or a good book. It serves as a home base for visiting the towns Joseph, Enterprise, Lostine and Wallowa - as well as the nooks and crannies of the Wallowa Valley, former home of the Nez Perce Indians.

Wallowa Lake is located in a majestic glacial valley on Chief Joseph Mountain's flank.

The cottage is at the base of Oregon's Eagle Cap Wilderness Area, with a trailhead just a 5 minute walk from the cottage.  Summer weekend activities range from art, quilting and antique car exhibits to Chief Joseph Days Rodeo and the Nez Perce Pow-Wow.  Fishtrap writers' conferences, art shows, foundry tours, marina rentals, a mountain tram ride and numerous art galleries provide things to see and do for people of all ages and interests.  Winter is a quieter season at the Lake, and the Christmas-card scenery is very picturesque.   Ram's Head Cottage  - a place for all seasons.

Ram's Head Cottage accommodates up to 4 guests (a roll-away bed is also available) and parking for 2 vehicles (one full size and one mid size).  The cost for Ram's Head Cottage is $160 per night for 4 in high season.  Prices are lower in off-season, and for fewer than 4 people.  Amenities of the cottage include expanded cable, VCR/DVD player, internet connection, down comforters, warm terry guest robes, hair dryers, washer & dryer, fully furnished kitchen, dishwasher, CD player, speakers for your iPod (bring your charging cord), and Bar-b-que.
